GRAAA Reflections: December 2025

Each month this year, we will share with you a significant image from the GRAAA archives as the group commemorates 70 years of existence in 2025. The images are selected to reveal not only significant history, but also some lighter moments.

We're closing out 2025 with a rare snowy photo from our archives, from a solar eclipse watch on a clear February day in 1979. This was the last solar eclipse visible from the United States until 2017, with totality occurring in the northwest US. Some GRAAA members at the time traveled to see totality, but a large crowd also gathered back home to view the ~80% partial eclipse from Grand Rapids.
